M2 Education are looking for passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Specialist SEND school that are located in the heart of the South East Northumberland. As an SEN TA, you will support children aged 4-11 years with communication difficulties typically associated with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism, as well as challenging behaviour management.
The roles are temporary initially for 3 weeks however, consistently weekly opportunities will be available to you, with the potential also for the right candidates to obtain a more fixed term or even permanent contracts.
What you MUST hold:
To be able establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
To promote and encourage independence and personal development
Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school. Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, therefore ideally someone who has previous experience of dealing with physical behaviour issues would be high desirable.
To promote pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

What we need from you:
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
Experience of working in a special school environment, or someone who holds a strong special needs background would be highly considered
Team TEACH Training- desirable
To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant, an enhanced DBS Certificate will need to be carried out as well as satisfactory references being taken. If you do not hold a DBS already, you will be required to process a new application before we can progress.
